According to a French outlet, Les Transferts, Brest are interested in signing the 23-year-old on loan as they prepare for the likely departure of Joris Chotard.

Marseille are also believed to be open to the arrangement, seeing it as an opportunity for Nnadi to continue his development.

The Nigerian joined Marseille during the January transfer window for €6 million but has struggled to establish himself, making only eight appearances while registering one assist.

The Belgian club paid €10.5 million to sign the Super Eagles striker from Pisa, making the 23-year-old the most expensive arrival in Genk’s history.

For many fans, the transfer fee appeared unusually high for a player who is yet to establish himself in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

However, Genk’s sporting director Dimitri De Condé insists the investment reflects both the modern transfer market and the club’s long-term strategy.

According to De Condé, Genk’s record investment is less about Durosinmi alone and more about the current reality of European football.

Quality centre-forwards have become expensive, particularly in markets that traditionally supplied affordable talent.

Raphael Onyedika joined Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2026 after three successful seasons with Belgian side Club Brugge. Frankfurt paid an initial €9 million, with the deal capable of rising to €10 million through add-ons, after beating interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

The midfielder signed a contract until 2031 and was recruited to strengthen a Frankfurt side that had struggled defensively after conceding 86 league goals the previous season. Gift Orban completed a €9 million move to Hoffenheim in January 2025 after a difficult spell at Lyon. The striker made an encouraging start by scoring on his Bundesliga debut against Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, he could not hold down a regular starting place. Orban scored four Bundesliga goals in 13 appearances before being loaned to Hellas Verona. By the summer of 2026, Hoffenheim had again sent him out on loan, this time to Turkish side Amedspor with a mandatory purchase option.

Obafemi Martins left Newcastle United following their Premier League relegation in 2009 and signed for defending Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg for €10.50 million. The Nigerian striker joined a team that already featured Edin Džeko and Grafite, making competition for places extremely difficult.

Injuries also affected Martins throughout the campaign. He still managed six Bundesliga goals in 16 league matches, showing flashes of his famous speed and spectacular finishing. After just one season in Germany, Wolfsburg sold him to Rubin Kazan.

Ademola Lookman impressed RB Leipzig during a six-month loan in 2018, scoring five goals in only 11 matches. That form convinced the club to spend €18 million on a permanent transfer from Everton in July 2019.

His second spell was much tougher. Leipzig had one of the strongest attacking squads in Germany, with Timo Werner, Christopher Nkunku and Dani Olmo all competing for places. Lookman managed only 13 appearances without a goal or assist before loan moves to Fulham and Leicester City. He later rebuilt his career successfully with Atalanta in Italy.

Victor Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen for €22.60 million in July 2023 after starring for Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise. The striker had finished as one of the UEFA Europa League’s top scorers and even impressed Leverkusen while playing against them.

His first season in Germany was sensational. Boniface won four straight Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards and scored 21 goals in all competitions despite missing several matches with a groin injury. The winger had enjoyed an excellent loan spell at Burnley, scoring 17 goals to help the club secure promotion to the Premier League.

At Leverkusen, Tella became an important player in Xabi Alonso’s squad during the unforgettable 2023/24 season. Although he often rotated with other attackers or played as a wing-back, his speed, work rate and versatility made him a valuable option in both the Bundesliga and UEFA Europa League.

The newly promoted Premier League side are understood to be actively exploring a move for the 25-year-old, who contributed 11 goals and seven assists to help Millwall reach the Championship play-offs before starring for Nigeria at the Unity Cup.

While Millwall remain determined to keep one of their most influential players and are expected to demand around £30 million, Hull’s interest underlines how highly Azeez is now regarded.

For a club preparing for the challenge of Premier League survival, the Nigerian possesses two key attributes capable of immediately improving Hull City’s attack.

1. End product in the final third

The biggest attraction is Azeez’s consistent ability to influence matches through goals and assists.

The Nigeria international enjoyed another outstanding campaign in Turkey, helping Galatasaray win back-to-back Süper Lig titles while also netting seven goals in ten Champions League appearances. His performances have attracted interest from several European giants, with Premier League clubs leading the race.

One of the clearest signs that Osimhen could be preparing for a move came when he declined Galatasaray’s offer to become the club’s permanent captain following Mauro Icardi’s departure. The decision could be indication that the 27-year-old does not want to commit his long-term future to the Turkish champions while major clubs continue to circle.

Galatasaray are prepared to negotiate, but only if their asking price of over €100 million is met. Tottenham Hotspur have already stepped forward with an opening proposal believed to be worth between £50 million and £55 million, while Arsenal, Manchester United and several other European clubs continue to monitor developments.

Osimhen’s likely destinations

Here is how the race currently stands, beginning with the least likely destination for the Galatasaray forward.

6. Barcelona

Barcelona admired Osimhen’s goalscoring record and briefly explored whether a deal could be possible as they considered strengthening their attack for the future. The Nigerian striker would reportedly welcome the opportunity to play for the Spanish giants, knowing the club’s history and reputation in European football.

However, Barcelona have now cooled their interest. The Catalan side are focusing on other attacking targets, including Julián Álvarez, while their financial situation makes it difficult to fund both a €100 million transfer fee and Osimhen’s salary package. For now, Barcelona remain outsiders in the race.

5. Chelsea

Chelsea have tracked Osimhen for several years and still admire his strength, pace and ability to score consistently against top opposition. The Premier League has always appealed to the Nigerian forward, making Stamford Bridge an attractive destination if the right opportunity presents itself.

Despite that interest, Chelsea’s pursuit has slowed considerably, especially with the recent signing of Danny Welbeck. Atlético Madrid continue to watch Osimhen’s situation closely as Diego Simeone looks at options to strengthen his attack. The Argentine coach reportedly believes the Nigerian’s pressing, physical presence and finishing ability would fit perfectly into Atlético’s aggressive style of play.

The Spanish club also faces uncertainty over the futures of key forwards, making Osimhen an attractive replacement if changes are made before the transfer window closes. The biggest obstacle remains finances. Atlético would struggle to match both Galatasaray’s valuation and Osimhen’s reported annual salary demands of around €15 million. Unless compromises are made, completing the deal will be difficult.

3. Manchester United

Manchester United have followed Osimhen for several transfer windows as they continue searching for a proven goalscorer to lead their attack. The Old Trafford club previously explored a move during the winter transfer window, but Osimhen preferred to remain at Galatasaray and help the club secure another league title.

United still admire the Super Eagles striker and view him as a player capable of transforming their frontline. However, unlike Tottenham, the Red Devils have yet to make an aggressive move this summer. They remain in the monitoring stage while assessing other transfer priorities before deciding whether to launch a formal offer.

Arsenal have shown some of the strongest interest in Osimhen as Mikel Arteta looks for a clinical striker capable of delivering both Premier League and UEFA Champions League success. The Gunners even sent senior club officials to Istanbul in an ambitious attempt to complete a deal.

Their proposal reportedly included Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres plus an additional €30 million in cash. Galatasaray immediately rejected the offer, insisting they wanted the full transfer fee rather than a player-exchange arrangement. Although Arsenal remain interested, that setback has allowed Tottenham to move into pole position.

1. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are currently leading the race to sign Osimhen and have shown the strongest determination to complete a deal. The North London club have identified the Nigerian as their priority striker and have already received internal approval to pursue the transfer.

Their opening offer has fallen short of Galatasaray’s valuation. Even so, Spurs remain in active talks and are expected to continue negotiations. Personal terms are not expected to be a major problem, especially after Osimhen turned down Galatasaray’s offer to become club captain for the 2026-27 season. That decision strengthened the belief that the Super Eagles star wants a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

With several weeks still remaining before the transfer window closes, Tottenham appear to be in the strongest position. Arsenal, Manchester United, Atlético Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona continue to stay in the conversation, but unless another club matches Galatasaray’s asking price, Spurs remain the favourites to land Nigeria’s most valuable footballer in history.
