Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways in the DStv Diski Challenge while Kaizer Chiefs made it three wins on the bounce as the Soweto giants upped the ante on matchday 12.

Pirates, who had lost the Soweto derby a week earlier, beat Richards Bay 2-0 on Saturday, November 22 to maintain their two-point lead at the summit after taking their tally to 28 points from 12 games, two ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns maintained the pressure on Pirates with a 4-0 thumping win over Polokwane City on Sunday November 23 as they look to profit from any slip ups from the log leaders.

Chiefs revive slim title chances

It is now three games without defeat for Sundowns, who have won back-to-back and narrowed the gap from five to two a week earlier, when Pirates lost and they won.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs seem to have revived their title aspirations after a third straight win, having thrashed Chippa United 5-1 on Saturday and they are now third on the table although they remain eight points behind leaders Pirates.

Chiefs had endured a tough run in the last two months but November has been good to them, narrowing the gap with Pirates from two digits to eight as they now have 20 from 12 games.

WHEN WILL THE NEXT MATCH TAKE PLACE?

The PSL Reverse League will continue on the final weekend of November on 29 and 30 with Pirates hosting Magesi FC on Saturday while Sundowns will welcome Orbit College the same day.

Meanwhile, Chiefs will host Golden Arrows on Sunday, a day after Stellenbosch, who have lost their last two, look to return to winning ways away at Sekhukhune United.

WHERE TO CATCH THE ACTION

SuperSport is the primary carrier of games on the DStv platform. Of the 66 games scheduled, at least 30 will be televised. Some will take the form of live shows, while others will be broadcast on a delayed basis, depending on channel scheduling.
