Pitso Mosimane succeeded Hugo Broos as Bafana Bafana’s head coach a couple of weeks ago.

The 74-year-old opted to retire after serving the South Africa national team for five years. During this period, Mzansi played back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), winning bronze in the 2023 edition. The country further played in the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States where they reached the Round of 32.

After taking over, Mosimane has been in charge of two games, the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Guinea and and Eritrea where they won 2-1 and 5-0 respectively.

Currently, Bafana Bafana are on top of Group D of the qualifiers with maximum points, with the National Elephants managing three as Kenya and Eritrea share a point each.

In his interview with iDiski Times, Bafana Bafana defender Samukele Kabini has explained how the two tacticians have been running their affairs in the national team.

“I don’t feel like there’s major differences; it feels the same as the last times. He didn’t want to change a lot of things – he just wanted us to continue the way we did things, even before he was not here,” he stated.

“So yeah – the vibes and everything in the camp is still the same, maybe some small things. He said he doesn’t want to change much, with the team doing well, the mentality is there. He just wanted to add on what we have, as the new coach.

“Not changing but adding on things to a good team and continue from there,” Kabini concluded.

On Sunday, Bafana Bafana will be at the Cairo International Stadium where they will play Egypt in an international friendly.
