Chiefs keep DStv Diski Challenge top spot as Pirates secure 6th consecutive win

Kaizer Chiefs maintained their lead at the summit of the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) standings following a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates continued their impressive form, securing their sixth consecutive win in the competition.

Amakhosi extended their winning streak to four matches with a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Rise and Shine at Dobsonville Stadium.

Aden McCarthy calmly slotted home a penalty in the first half, and Naledi Hlongwane sealed the victory for the Soweto giants in the second half. This result sees Chiefs reach 48 points after 20 games.

Polokwane City's struggles continued with their third successive defeat, leaving them in 13th place with only 14 points from 21 matches.

Stellenbosch FC remain hot on Kaizer Chiefs' heels in second place after a narrow 1-0 victory against Magesi FC. Tauric Gamildien scored the decisive goal for Stellenbosch, who now have 47 points. Magesi FC remain in 12th position with 17 points.

Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. The point sees the Durban-based Golden Arrows in 11th place, while Sekhukhune United occupy ninth position.

In a thrilling encounter at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, Orlando Pirates secured a 4-2 victory over SuperSport United.

This win marks the Sea Robbers' fifth consecutive triumph, propelling them to third place with 43 points from 22 games. SuperSport United now sit in fourth place with 41 points from 21 matches.

In the final match of the weekend, Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over AmaZulu FC.

This win comes after a three-game winless run for the Tshwane giants, who now move up to fourth place with 42 points from 21 matches. AmaZulu are currently in 10th position with 23 points after 20 games.
