Bafana Bafana will host Lesotho in the 2026 World Cup Qualifier to be staged at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.

It is a must-win game for Hugo Broos-led team who are currently on seven points from the four matches played, two more than the Crocodiles. Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo believes Orlando Pirates youngster Relebohile Mofokeng should be given his first start for the national team.

The 20-year-old is riding high in confidence after scoring a brace last weekend that helped the Sea Robbers defeat the defending Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 at the FNB Stadium.

Ahead of the Friday outing, Khumalo has explained why he feels Mofokeng should get his chance in the first team.

“Yes there are other players in that position but at the moment the guy is hot. He scored two goals against Sundowns in a packed FNB stadium, the least expected of him. And here is Lesotho and not undermining them but out of the three players [Thapelo Morena, Oswin Appollis and Elias Mokwana] I’d pull him up,” he concluded
