‘Chiefs should’ve signed Zungu’ – Amakhosi legend

Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi says Amakhosi should have seized the signature of former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.

‘Ben 10’, as he’s affectionately known, recently joined AmaZulu FC as a free agent having been unattached for nearly six months.

Early in the season, he was on the verge of signing with Wydad Casablanca, but fitness concerns reportedly led the club to withdraw their contract offer.

Baloyi believes Chiefs are in need of a player like Zungu who’d strengthen their midfield which hasn’t been solid for some time.

He feels the Chiefs youngsters would benefit from the experience of the veteran midfielder.

BALOYI ON WHY CHIEFS SHOULD HAVE SIGNED ZUNGU

“I’ve said it in the last six months that I’m a big fan of Bongani [Zungu], I believe that’s the type of player that Chiefs should’ve signed,” Baloyi said told Andile Ncube on Metro FM.

“But I don’t know what they thinking but these are types of players that when you look at the young players you need to blend experience with youth.

“A lot of those young players they can learn a lot from Bongani, not only that but there’s a still a lot that he can give.”
