Kaizer Chiefs striker Etiosa Ighodaro has struggled to make an impact for the Soweto giants.
The Nigerian joined Amakhosi at the beginning of the 2025/26 season as a free agent. However, he has found the back of the net just once owing to his inconsistencies on the pitch, brought about by back-to-back injuries.

Ighodaro signed a two-year deal with Chiefs meaning the 25-year-old has probably a couple of months to prove his worth at the Naturena Village before a decision is made by the management whether to extend his stay or not.
Former Tembisa Classic and Bay United striker Abayomi Adebayo insists that Ighodaro, who is goalless in five matches this season, will come good once he finds his concistency.
Ighodaro has made a lot of progress

“This season will be important for him. I know him personally, and what I like is that he is professional in his conduct and understands the expectations at Chiefs. This season he will do very well after all the injuries he struggled with last season,” he stated.
“I think he has made a lot of progress since that injury and now just needs that one goal to get going. The goals will come because he is getting the chances, so it is just a matter of time and making all the correct runs into the box.
“What I like is that he is under good hands at Chiefs and with his agent Mohammed Lawal, so I have no concerns whatsoever.

“There is no need to worry for the boy because we all have full confidence in him and the club knows what he can do when injury-free,” Adebayo concluded.
