Galaxy vs Chiefs: Nabi begs for ‘perfect Christmas gift’

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has asked for quality players in the January transfer window who can strengthen his team.

On Monday afternoon, the Glamour Boys had to score in the added minutes to salvage a point in the 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. Coach Nasreddine Nabi was not impressed with the way the Glamour Boys approached the game against the Rockets.

He believes his players did not get the basics right and it ended up costing them in the first half.

All duels were won by Galaxy

“We feel that we didn’t start well, the first 15, 20 minutes, we were losing every ball,” The Tunisian stated after the game.

“Easy passes were lost. All the duels were won by the opponent, which was very difficult for us. We tried to make it in around 25 minute. We tried to adjust the team tactically, make a slight change, and then we came back, really good.

“Then we conceded a goal on the set pieces where we feel that we were starting to come back in the game really, really well, with more control, with more commitment. And, in the second half, we tried to push forward.”

Chiefs need players to strengthen the team

The tactician believes his team is still far from where they should be after winning just one of their last four games.

“We are missing opportunities to score and at the end, we tried everything to put more power, more risk forward, and fortunately, we got the point.

“But we feel that we are very, very far from the level of a team like Kaizer Chiefs, and we need to work hard, we need to strengthen the team but we’re gonna do everything we can for the future games.”

With the transfer window set to open on January 1, Nabi has made his wish, “The perfect gift for Christmas time will be players that can strengthen the team. We feel that we’ll do everything as well with what we have to get better results.”

After the draw, Chiefs are ninth on the PSL table with 12 points while Galaxy are 11th with 10.
