Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that their versatile attacker Luke Baartman is out of their next game against Stellenbosch.
Amakhosi will be coming up against their former coach Gavin Hunt on Tuesday at the FNB Stadium. The Glamour Boys haven’t been in action for three weeks, just like the other teams in Mzansi, owing to the FIFA international break.
Some of their players were in action, representing their nations, including Baartman who was representing the South Africa U23 team. However, things didn’t go as planned for the former Cape Town Spurs player who has come back injured, according to the club’s media team.

“Amakhosi return to the pitch after the FIFA international break sitting fourth on the log with 13 points from seven matches, eager to continue their strong start. Stellenbosch, coached by Gavin Hunt and featuring a few familiar former Chiefs players, will arrive determined to climb from their current seventh position, where they hold nine points,” the club confirmed.
“Chiefs have welcomed back three players who were away on duty with the South African U23 national team, adding depth and energy to the squad. The medical team is closely monitoring Luke Baartman after he picked up an injury, and updates on his progress, along with other sidelined players, will be shared ahead of the clash.

“Supporters can expect a great evening of football with Amakhosi looking to produce a memorable performance for a home crowd they have not played in front of for a while. The atmosphere at FNB Stadium promises to be electric and the team is calling on the Gold & Black army of fans to come out in numbers to show their passion and pride,” Chiefs concluded.
