Kaizer Chiefs are determined to deliver in both the Premier Soccer League and CAF Confederation Cup competitions.
Domestically, things have not been going according to plan, especially in Cup competitions. After failing to qualify for the MTN8, things did not go well in both the Carling Knockout and Nedbank Cup. They were knocked out by Stellenbosch respectively in both competitions in the initial round.
In the PSL, the Glamour Boys are third on the table with 30 points, five less than leaders Orlando Pirates. On Saturday, the Soweto giants will be in Egypt to face Zamalek in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup outing.
Chiefs come into the match against the Egyptian outfit aware that a point will be enough to see them advance as group winners.
What are Chiefs saying regarding the Zamalek game?
Defender Zitha Kwinika who is expected to start alongside Given Msimango at the heart of the Soweto giants defense is not expecting an easy outing.
“It’s a very important game for us. I think we know what’s at stake, and we are ready,” he told the media.

“We’re definitely going to do what’s at stake, and we are ready. We’re definitely going to do what’s good for us, which is winning. With the quality we have, I’m definitely sure that we’re going to compete.
“Zamalek are obviously a good team, and, on top of that, we know that every team is dangerous at home.
“We must understand that at times we will suffer, so we need to be strong in those moments,” Kwinika said.
Match postponed!
This explains why Amakhosi have opted to postpone their South African top-flight fixture scheduled for midweek.
“The match between Siwelele FC and Kaizer Chiefs, originally set for 18 February 2026 at the Toyota Stadium, was postponed due to our CAF Confederation Cup schedule and related travel logistics,” they posted on Friday.
“The PSL will advise on the new date,” the club concluded..
