As Kaizer Chiefs prepare for their Betway Premiership clash with TS Galaxy at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this weekend, midfielder Thabo Cele has offered a fitness update.

Amakhosi are eager to return to winning ways after two consecutive losses that have left them in eighth place with 29 points.

Fans will be keen to see Cele, who has become an important player since joining in January and was taken off in the second half of their recent 2-1 defeat against Golden Arrows, available for selection.

“Obviously, you saw in the game I had some discomfort on my calf,” said Cele as quoted by FARPost.

“But it’s something that we’ve been monitoring with the technical team. I’m going to see today from how I train.”

It remains to be seen whether the KwaMashu-born midfielder will feature when the Phefeni Glamour Boys face off against the Rockets on Saturday with kick off set for 7 PM.

Cele, who’s become a key player for Amakhosi, has made ten appearances across all competitions since arriving in January this year.
