Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Another exit confirmed

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the exit of versatile attacker Ashley du Preez.

The 29-year-old has been serving the Glamour Boys since 2022 after impressing at Stellenbosch. The Gavin Hunt-led team have since managed to get back the winger, who was part of the deal involving Langelihle Phili, who has moved in the opposite direction.

“Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley du Preez has left the Club to join Stellenbosch FC in the Western Cape,” the club confirmed on Tuesday.

“We extend our gratitude to Ashley for serving the Club with diligence, dedication and professionalism, and we wish him all the best in his career,” they concluded.

“Stellenbosch FC is delighted to announce the signing of Ashley Du Preez on a permanent transfer from Kaizer Chiefs in a deal that sees the Idas Valley-born star return for a second spell at the Club,” the Maroons announced.

“Du Preez has been handed the iconic No. 10 jersey for the 2026-27 season and could be in line to make his debut when Stellenbosch FC take on Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership on 11 August,” they added.

Club’s CEO was elated to have the experienced winger back, “Ashley has always held a special relationship with this Club and the Stellenbosch community, so we are incredibly excited to bring him home.

“He is also an exceptional footballer who has consistently proven his quality in the Betway Premiership over a number of years, and we believe he will add enormous value to our squad both on and off the field.”
