The Glamour Boys are looking for established players to help them get their glory days back

Kaizer Chiefs should consider going for Bafana Bafana international Percy Tau, according to former defender Thabang Rooi.

The 30-year-old Al Ahly winger has been linked with a move away from the club in the ongoing transfer window. Speculations have it that the Glamour Boys are interested in having the South Africa assistant captain and have already tabled an offer that was turned down because it was too low.

In recent years, the Soweto giants have brought in superstars like Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly. The duo was released when their contract expired after failing to deliver as anticipated by the fans and club at large.

Rooi argues Tau is the kind of player who can make an impact both on and off the field when given a chance. Rooi has now urged his former team to consider meeting Al Ahly's asking price since the attacker deserves it.

“I think Percy [Tau] deserves any price that they can request for him because of his quality. You know he can deliver at any place, any team wherever he goes. If Chiefs really need his services then he deserves it and they should sign him because he will bring a different dimension to our team,” he told SNL24.

“For me, Percy Tau is 10 times better than both [Billiat and Dolly] performance-wise and lifestyle-wise. His experience is also of great value. He is the kind of player you need in your team.

“He still delivered when he got to Egypt… I know he can still do it at Chiefs and he should not be compared to what happened to Billiat or Dolly as he is in a class of his own. If he can join Chiefs his money could really benefit the team.”

Chiefs have not officially announced any new players in the ongoing transfer window. However, they have promised to unveil them on Sunday, July 28.
