The Premier Soccer League newbies Magesi FC have been ticking all the right boxes since last season.

They won the second tier to get their South African top-flight football ticket, for the current 2024/25 edition, where they have been hitting headlines for all the good reasons. In the PSL, they have collected six points from as many outings after collecting a win, three draws, and two losses.

Last weekend, they defied the odds and beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the Carling Knockout final. En route to the final, they defeated Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy, and Richards Bay.

Afrik-foot can authoritatively reveal AmaZulu and TS Galaxy are desperate to land Magesi FC coach Clinton Larsen.

Usuthu placed their offer to the former Orlando Pirates coach; reports have it the management feel Larsen will bring a winning mentality to the team. He will be working alongside former Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane who is currently co-coaching AmaZulu with Vusumuzi Vilakazi.

However, TS Galaxy are ready to outsmart Usuthu to the services of the former midfielder who is contemplating taking the deal. The Rockets have had a shaky start to the Premier Soccer League season.

Currently, they are at the bottom of the table with just two points after two draws and a loss from the six top-tier games they have played.

AmaZulu are placed a position higher with just three points from a win and four losses in the ongoing edition. It is interesting to see how the Magesi FC management will react to the interest from the two established PSL teams.
