Saleng injury update
Mamelodi Sundowns winger Monnapule Saleng has missed the past two matches against Chippa United and Durban City due to injury concerns. Here’s a fresh update on his situation.

Since joining Sundowns in January, Saleng’s playing time has been limited as he works to establish himself at Chloorkop. His last appearance came on 17 April 2026, when he featured in the 3-1 win over Marumo Gallants. Prior to that, he played 25 minutes in the 3-0 victory against Stade Malien at Loftus Stadium.
Saleng has a muscle strain that has kept him out of action. The club’s medical team is reportedly working intensively to get Saleng back to full fitness as the club juggles a domestic and continental title chase.
Sundowns warned despite Pirates’ draw
Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou insists the race is not over despite a 2-2 draw with Richards Bay that left them a point behind Mamelodi Sundowns, who have a game in hand.
“We knew that it would be difficult here. Every time we come here or play Richards Bay, it’s always tight,” Ouaddou stated after the game.
“We knew that it would be difficult, when you concede one goal, and you come back. It’s the first time that I think we concede a second goal like that, and after we come back.
“The guys did everything to win that game. I think there’s a little bit of disappointment. I think it’s two points lost in this race, but let’s work until the end.

“A lot of people can think that it’s over, but we don’t think like that; we have to play until the end. Our plan was not to concede and have a lot of clean sheets, but unfortunately today [Friday] that area was a little bit weak, and when you concede two goals here, it’s very difficult to score three,” he added.
