Mamelodi Sundowns have revealed their full squad for the FIFA Club World Cup with most of their players included apart from three stars.
Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has named a squad of 35 players with only out of contract Lucas Suarez and Rivaldo Coetzee missing as well as winger Kabomelo Kodisang.
The squad includes four goalkeepers with Reyaad Pieterse and Sanele Shabalala joining veterans Ronwen Williams and Dennis Onyangi while Terrence Mashego, who was reported to have missed out, Zuko Mdunyelwa, Kegan Johannes and Thato Sibiya among 13 defenders named.
Who else is in the squad?
Matias Esquivel and Ntando Nkosi made it to a star-studded midfield of nine players that has veteran Themba Zwane, Jayden Adams, Teboho Mokoena, Marcello Allende and Neo Maema among others while in attack, youngster Kutlwano Letlhaku, who was part of Amjita’s AFCON U20-winning team, Siyabonga Mabena, Thapelo Maseko have made it to the team.
Star forwards Peter Shalulile, Lucas Ribeiro, Tashreeq Matthews, Arthur Sales and Iqraam Rayners lead the forwards with Lebo Mothiba also making the squad.
However, Mashego, Esquivel, Maseko, Nkosi, Tshabalala, Johannes, Sibiya and Mdunyelwa did not travel to the United States.
Sundowns will begin their Club World Cup campaign against Ulsan of South Korea on Wednesday morning before matches against German giants Borussia Dortmund and Brazilian side Fluminense follow.
