Bahlabane Ba Ntwa are in the market for a new tactician after the exit of the Englishman who was appointed a month ago.

Dylan Kerr's return to the Premier Soccer League has been put on ice after parting ways with Marumo Gallants.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa appointed the former Leeds United defender to manage them in the 2024/25 campaign. The management then went on to appoint the 57-year-old to guide them through the season.

“The club will be relocating to Bloemfontein. The team is excited to return to the Premier Soccer League, with the home games scheduled to be played at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium,” Gallants confirmed during the coach's unveiling.

“Larger fixtures will be played at the Free State Stadium, ensuring that the fans experience top-tier football in iconic venues.

“A warm welcome was extended to incoming head coach Dylan Kerr… he shared the club's plans to focus on football development in Bloemfontein, explaining that Gallant's vision is to give back to the community and uphold the passion for football that the Free State province is known for.”

Kerr and Gallants relationship ends

The two parties have parted ways just 28 days after agreeing to work together ahead of the forthcoming season.

Reports have it that Gallants' president Abram Sello and the board had opted to bring another tactician to co-coach with Kerr. However, the latter was not ready for that arrangement since he was not involved.

When reached for comment, Kerr did not have much to say, “Had to go,” he responded to Afrik-Foot when requested to shed more light on the issue.

The PSL side has now confirmed Dan Malesela as their new coach.

“The appointment comes as part of Gallants' efforts to strengthen the technical team and address delays in finalizing the squad for the upcoming season,” the club said in a statement.

“Further announcements regarding player signings and additional technical team appointments will be made in the coming weeks.”

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa were relegated from the PSL in the 2022/23 campaign, after playing in the second tier for a year, they bought Moroka Swallows' slot after the latter's financial struggles.

They will start their PSL adventure with a home game against hungry Kaizer Chiefs on August 14.
