Mbesuma asks Chivaviro to ‘fix attitude’ if he gets second chance at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs legend Collins Mbesuma has reprimanded striker Ranga Chivaviro for his behavior towards the fans.

Chivaviro signed for the Glamour Boys from Marumo Gallants two seasons ago, and his deal is set to expire in January. It is not yet clear whether his deal will be extended by Amakhosi or not. The 32-year-old has scored four goals in the ongoing campaign in 10 appearances, the same number of goals he had in his debut season at the club.

Mbesuma has now advised Chivaviro on how to conduct himself if his term at the Soweto giants is extended by the management.

As a professional, you shouldn’t do that

“I think he should fix his attitude towards the supporters when he performs very well by scoring,” the 40-year-old told Far Post.

“As a striker, your main job is to score goals. If you keep on missing those chances, the supporters become frustrated, and they will boo you.

“There is a match [against SuperSport United], he was booed. Later on, he scored, and his celebration was directed to the supporters [saying they talk too much]. As a professional, you shouldn’t do that.

“Players should have a strong relationship with supporters. Those are the people who can make your career or completely destroy it. They can help you build a good reputation as well.”

Amakhosi are in the market for a striker and they just might let Chivaviro leave if they manage to get his replacement. Reports have it that the team is close to agreeing a two-year deal extension.
