Orlando Pirates duo lauded after progress: It was part of the vision

Orlando Pirates duo Kamogelo Sebelebele and Lebone Seema have been on a trajectory curve since joining the Soweto Giants.

Both were part of coach Pitso Mosimane’s Bafana Bafana team that beat Guinea 2-1 last weekend in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier that was staged at the Orlando Stadium.

While Sebelebele played the entire game in the absence of the injured Mamelodi Sundowns star Khuliso Mudau, Seema was an unused substitute. The two players have made a massive impact at Bucs where, last season, they helped them with the Premier Soccer League for the first time in 14 years.

Former TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic is happy with the steps both Sebelebele and Seema have made, insisting it was one of the objectives set by the Rockets during his time there.

Galaxy expected to produce players

“Lebone really exploded when he got to Orlando Pirates. That’s it. Just like Mike Mamosha (Kamogelo Sebelebele), they both excelled. Lebone played some good games for TS Galaxy, and Mike also played very well for us. He deserved to have that moment at Orlando Pirates,” he stated as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“We spoke about this at TS Galaxy. It was part of the vision of the club. We trained hard, we prepared everything properly and we gave 100% in the games.

“We expected to produce players, and we did. When I say ‘we’, I mean all of us together. It was not only me. From the board and the people at the top right down to everyone at the bottom, we all needed to be on the same page if we wanted to have success. That was my vision of football,” Beganovic concluded.

Bafana Bafana will return to action on Wednesday September 30 against Eritrea in Cairo, Egypt.
