Has AmaZulu star received death threats over Nduli injury?

AmaZulu FC star Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has reportedly been subjected to death threats following his horrific tackle on Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli.

Nduli was on the end of a near leg-breaking tackle from Ngwenya, who stamped on his ankle, but escaped a red card when the two sides faced off in a Premier Soccer League match that ended 1-1 in Durban on Wednesday.

It was a tough return to action for Nduli, who had missed a huge chunk of last season due to a ligament injury, and he faces another long spell on the sidelines.

According to Zimbabwean outlet Herald, Ngwenya has been subjected to death threats over the tackle which has left him shaken.

“Ngwenya has been receiving death threats on social media after the incident. But he had no intentions against Nduli,” a source told the outlet.

Ouddou confirms triple Orlando Pirates injury blow

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has confirmed that Nduli as well as striker Evidence Makgop and midfielder Thalente Mbatha are out with injuries.

Commenting on Nduli’s injury, Ouaddou said: “Yes, we had to take him out because, unfortunately, he could not continue. We wanted to give him a gift. You know, if you remember, he was injured here in Durban. So, really, it was a good surprise for him to restart here.”

“And he got injured. We hope it’s not so bad. Now we are going to do some analysis, to go deep into the analysis. Actually, I cannot give you more updates about that. We just have to make some examinations, and we will see. I hope that we didn’t lose him again.”

Meanwhile, Makgopa, is reported to have been advised to take a two months’ rest due to a problem that bothered him last season while Mbatha is set to undergo surgery.

“They had some problems since last season that bothered both of them and I cannot give you deep information about them but I just know they have some tests with the doctors to do and I hope it is not so bad but both of them are injured,” the Moroccan coach said of Makgopa and Mbatha.
