‘Pirates striker Pedersen is Mbuthuma 2.0! Bucs won’t compete vs Chiefs & Downs’

Deon Hotto’s first half strike was all that Orlando Pirates needed to beat Sekhukhune United in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-fnal game played on Saturday afternoon.

The Soweto giants have won the last four editions, and a win this weekend brings them closer to their fifth title. Bucs will face either Mamelodi Sundowns or Golden Arrows if they advance to the final.

While a section of the club’s supporters is happy with the win, others feel the technical team has a lot to do. Here are their arguments as compiled by Afrik-Foot.

We are playing like an average team

If Patrick Maswanganyi leaves, Orlando Pirates are cooked. We need more creativity in the forward department –  Goitse Makube 

Sebastien Pedersen is no Erling Haaland, but Yanela Mbuthuma 2.0 – Sishwapa Ronny

In front of the goalposts, our boys are not team players. They don’t want to share. They all want individual glory. This is why Relebohile Mofokeng will always be better than most players – Juan Blu. 

Baby Haaland is promising; he just needs supplies, and I think he will be deadly with those Tito passes – Kay Phonic 

We are still playing like an average team, but if we can get a good No.10 who can supply very well, I’m telling you, Mlungu is going to be a top goal scorer – Viscosa Crown 

I’m still not convinced by this Orlando Pirates team. They will never compete against Kaizer Chiefs, nor Sundowns. Mark my words, Orlando must fall – Lebogang Bereng 

We need more goals

Whether we like it or not, without Tito, we’re nothing. He’s the only one who’s really good at supplying the ball to our players, and today, if he was there, we would’ve won by a much better score. Our Haaland is promising; he just needs a good player who can supply him with the ball, and that player is Tito – TauRus Dlamini 

 Pedersen’s touches and passes look promising; a proper striker similar to Tshegofatso Mabasa but good on his feet. This one he’ll bang goals like no one’s business – Kwanele Zuma

Pedersen makes you miss Mbuthuma, Mbuthuma makes you miss Boitumelo Radiopane, and Radiopane makes you miss Evidence Makgopa – Boipelo Morake 

We need more goals, man! We can’t be winning like this; we are not used to it. I almost had a heart attack – Lioness Lebusa 

You can really see in the midfield there’s no Thalente Mbatha. At least bring back Kabelo Dlamini – Lusanda Jiyane
