The Premier Soccer League (PSL) 2025 promotion/relegation play-offs have officially set the stage, kicking off on 11 June.

Having concluded their Betway Premiership season in a precarious 15th position, Cape Town City now faces a high-stakes battle to retain their top-flight status in the upcoming mini-league playoffs.

Their journey to survival is fraught with challenges, as they are joined by two formidable contenders from the Motsepe Foundation Championship: Casric Stars, who secured an impressive second-place finish in their league, and Orbit College, who claimed the third spot.

This crucial play-off phase will see each of these three clubs engage in a rigorous series of home and away fixtures against both opponents.

This comprehensive round-robin format is designed to rigorously test which team possesses the necessary grit, tactical acumen, and sheer quality to emerge as the undisputed leader of this mini-league.

The ultimate prize for the side that triumphs and finishes atop this intensely competitive table is a coveted spot in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign, ensuring their continued presence among South Africa's football elite.

For Cape Town City, every match in this phase is a final, as they fight to avoid relegation.
