Siwelele FC have confirmed advanced negotiations with Belgian First Division side K. Beerschot VA for the potential transfer of 20-year-old striker Siviwe Magidigidi.
Promoted to the senior team this season after impressing in the reserves, Magidigidi quickly became a key figure in Siwelele’s attack, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist in 12 league appearances. His performances have attracted strong European interest.
Club CEO Lerato Kholoanyane revealed that Beerschot’s initial bid was rejected but a significantly improved offer has brought talks close to completion.
“We’ve always believed in matching ambition with opportunity. When Beerschot doubled their offer, the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele FC,” Kholoanyane said.
While a mid-season exit could impact Siwelele’s Betway Premiership campaign, the club acknowledges Magidigidi’s desire to test himself abroad. If negotiations succeed, the move will be finalized during the current transfer window.
Kholoanyane praised the young forward’s contribution:
“He’s been a foundational player in our maiden campaign. If this move happens, he’ll carry Siwelele’s spirit with him and always have a home in Bloemfontein.”
