Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has made five changes to his starting XI for their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations against South Sudan in Cape Town on Tuesday.

Broos made changes across the pitch with goalkeeper Ronwen Williams keeping his spot but Siyabonga Ngezana has returned to the team, coming in for Mothobi Mvala in central defence, where he will partner Roshwin Dortley while at left-back, Stellenbosch ace Fawaaz Basadien has been handed a start ahead of Aubrey Modiba.

The central midfield partnership of Bathusi Aubaas and Teboho Mokoena remains unchanged while in attacking midfield, Patrick Maswanganyi has been slotted into the starting XI following his debut goal against Uganda last Friday, ahead of Luke Le Roux.

Who else has been handed a start?

Oswin Appollis retains his place on the left wing but Thapelo Morena will play on the right, also getting a reward for his goal against Uganda, with Elias Mokwana dropping to the bench.

Similarly in attack, Iqraam Ryaners returns to the starting XI after losing his position to Evidence Makgopa in Kampala with the Orlando Pirates striker among the substitutes.

South Africa are seeking to complete the qualification phase with a win which will leave them top of Group K with 14 points ahead of Uganda, who also sealed their place at AFCON 2025, from the group.
