Revealed: Ngezana’s buyout clause and what Chiefs will get

Kaizer Chiefs Academy Graduate Siyabonga Ngezana has been ticking all the right boxes since his move to Romanian heavyweights FCSB.

The 27-year-old helped FCSB end their nine-year league trophy drought by securing one in the 2023/24 campaign. The team qualified for the Uefa Champions League but they were eliminated in the third preliminary round.

In the Europa League, the Bafana Bafana international has played three out of four matches and helped FCSB claim wins on three occasions in the League phase. His consistency has attracted some top teams from France, and Scotland among others.

In the summer transfer window, it will not be surprising if a bigger team comes for the services of the South African center-back

“I say it [interest] has grown a lot. We can probably talk about a transfer for him in the summer if he will continue to be at this level. It may grow,” Ngezana's agent Florin Vulturar told Fanatik.

“If there are good results in Europe as well, everyone will be watching them. He has a 10 million euro termination clause, something like that.

“There are many questions about him, but until the summer the transfer issue does not arise.”

In the current exchange rate, it means any team interested in Ngezana will have to part with R193 million. Amakhosi are entitled to 10 percent a sell-on fee.

Currently, Ngezana is in Uganda with Bafana Bafana for Group K's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the hosts. Both teams have qualified but South Africa are chasing the top spot and a win will surely grant them their wish.
