Mamelodi Sundowns raid PSL rivals to sign Wandile

Mamelodi Sundowns have officially bolstered their defensive lineup, confirming the acquisition of highly-regarded young talent Wandile Dube from AmaZulu.

The Tshwane-based club announced the signing of the 22-year-old, who successfully completed his medical in Johannesburg following extensive negotiations between the two clubs before the transfer deadline.

In a statement welcoming the new player, the club announced, “Mamelodi Sundowns have added another young talent to the roster! Yellow Nation, let’s welcome Wandile Dube to the Yellow army.”

What makes Wandile Dube special

Dube, a left-footed centre-back who can also play at left-back, joins Miguel Cardoso’s squad, adding valuable depth and versatility to the team’s defensive options.

While the club did not specify the contract’s duration, it is understood that Dube has signed an initial three-year deal.

The defender was promoted to the AmaZulu senior team at the start of the 2025/26 season, where he made 10 appearances and helped Usuthu achieve a fourth-place finish in the Betway Premiership.

This transfer marks a significant step in Dube’s career, as he prepares to compete for a spot at a club known for its dominance in both domestic and continental competitions.

Dube is the seventh player signed by Sundowns in this transfer window following the arrivals of Antonio van Wyk (SV Ried, Austria), Siyanda Ndlovu (Golden Arrows), Thabang Matuludi from Polokwane City and free agents Cassius Mailula, Deano van Rooyen as well as Thabo Cele.
