Former Orlando Pirates defender Benson Mhlongo says Mamelodi Sundowns underestimated Pyramids ahead of the CAF Champions League final.
Masandawana drew 1-1 with the Egyptian giants in what was the first leg that was held at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
With the Brazilians aiming to overturn Pyramids’ advantage, the return tie will take place on Sunday, 1 June at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
Mhlongo it was not a bad result for Sundowns, who have what it takes to come back with a victory.
He feels the Tshwane giants “underestimated” Pyramids. He believes this stemmed from the Egyptian side's previous performances and results against the Buccaneers, leading to a misjudgment of their true capabilities.

‘PYRAMIDS DIDN’T REACH THE FINAL BY CHANCE’
“It's not a bad result for Sundowns, but it's also not ideal if they concede away,” Mhlongo told KickOff as quoted by iDiski Times.
“Fiston Mayele is a problem; he is a constant threat. Sundowns have nothing to lose; they should go all out. Sundowns played well on Saturday; they were simply up against a good team.
“Pyramids FC made an incredible comeback against Orlando Pirates, which proves they didn't reach the final by chance. They are a solid team, and we underestimated them because they kept falling behind against Pirates.
“This weekend, they showed that they are capable of being champions. Sundowns must bring their A-game for the second leg.
“In the return match, there won't be a favorite; the chances of lifting the trophy are equal for both clubs. They are champions. Sundowns can score in Egypt; they've done it before.”
