‘Sundowns won candle stand! Ugly trophy, bubbly – Pirates withdrew because of this & Chiefs focused on Nedbank Cup’

Published on by

Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned on Sunday after securing the Premier Soccer League title for the eighth time in a row.

Masandawana ended the campaign with 73 points from 28 games, where they secured 24 wins, three losses, and a draw. Orlando Pirates are set to finish second as Stelelnbosch and Sekhukhune United battle for the third position to play in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The majority of football lovers are, however, unhappy with the new trophy presented by league sponsors. They feel it was poorly designed, and it lowered the standards of the PSL. Have a look at what they said.

It's a shame somebody reminds these designers that they are designing for football lovers, not a fashion show. The one who designed this is a smoker – Masixole

The Nedbank Cup is better than this rubbish

The Nedbank Cup is far better than this rubbish, and that's why Kaizer Chiefs were focused on the Nedbank Cup rather than this hubbly bubbly – Peter Sono

Since the sponsorship with ABSA ended, the league trophies have been pure and utter garbage! U12 tournament trophies look better than this kak. It's honestly disrespectful – Morena Thabang
