South Africa international attacker Percy Tau has won his 11th title with Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly.

The versatile winger was part of the Red Devils squad that defeated their old rivals Zamalek at the  Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium on Thursday night to secure the Egyptian Super Cup.

The Royal Club had hoped to stop the Premier League and Caf Champions League champions from laying their hands on the crown but despite their effort, things didn't go as planned.

Having lost in penalties against Zamalek in the Caf Super Cup a couple of weeks ago, Marcel Kohler's team wanted an immediate response.

Percy Tau was not in the starting team, but he was introduced in the extra time in place of Wessam Abou Ali.

After a goalless draw in both regulation and extra time, the game had to be decided through the penalties. Tau scored his spot kick for the Red Devils alongside Mohamed Magdi Kafsha, Omar Kamal, Marwan Attia, Amr El Soleya, Yahia Attiat Allah, and Hussein El Shahat. Reda Slim and Youssef Ayman failed to convert their penalties.

Zamalek converted their strikes courtesy of Abdalla El Said, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Naser Mansy, Zizo, Mohamed Hamdy, and Konrad Michalak. Hamza Mathlouthi, Shikabala, and Omar Gaber failed to score.

What has Percy Tau won at Al Ahly?

Al Ahly have now won the competition 15 times while Zamalek have managed to secure the crown four times.

Tau has now won 11 trophies with the Red Devils since joining them; he has won two Caf Champions League titles, two Premier League crowns, three Egyptian Super Cups, two Egypt Cups, and the Caf Super Cup.

His contract with the Egyptian heavyweights expires at the end of the season and it is a wait and see whether the club will extend it or not.
