Former Esteghlal CEO Hojjat Karimi recently slammed Pitso Mosimane, claiming he was not fit to succeed at the club.

Karimi further stated the 60-year-old came from a country whose football is weaker than Iran. All these are in the wake of Jingles' exit from the Capital Blues. His sentiments have have not gone down well with fans in the country.

They reacted strongly against those sentiments by Karimi. Have a look at what they said.

Safa president please arrange a friendly match between Bafana Bafana and Iran. Then two of their best teams against our very best two in Mzansi then we will talk after –  Tsiba Mathambisa

Even though I don't know the story much, honestly I think Pitso is no longer motivated by football anymore. I believe the man is chasing money more than the game itself. Since he left Sundowns it has been all about money issues –  Jamio Kedi

Iran is known for farming but they claim that they know football. This is a joke! Which coach in Iran has achieved what Mr Pitso Mosimane has? I think that the CEO was under the influence of alcohol – Thob'zn Hlulekezamile Gcwensa

Pitso rejected offers at home because he loves money too much, I like it when they criticize him – Sihle Tony Mxabo

This Karimi guy is an idiot. Pitso arrived when that team was being walloped left, right, and center. He stabilized the ship. Now they realize they have lost a good coach because they can't pay salaries, they start talking rubbish. Pitso should take them to Fifa – Shingi Feshete

Pitso used to disrespect PSL coaches

The man is telling the truth. They're much better in football. Also, Iran is ranked higher than any African country in FIFA rankings. They're a footballing nation. So sentiments aside, they're good at football – Del Misterio

Whether we're bad in football compared to them it doesn't matter but they need to pay our fellow brother – Ngomane Mabindzela

Pitso is a good coach, and they don't deserve him. All these negative vocals won't clean the debt they owed him – Thabo Seolwana

Mamelodi Sundowns are five times better than Esteghlal! Another thing, don't disrespect our coach Jingles – Smanga Sthembiso Fakude

Good for Karimi, Pitso used to talk too much and disrespect PSL coaches but now he is struggling to win matches – TG Tyzan
