Zamalek SC has responded to reports linking Al Ahly and Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau to the club.
Tau has been linked to the Club of the Century's exit door for quite some time. He apparently had a falling out with coach Marcel Koller.
The Swiss coach reportedly told the club that he would no longer use the left-footer. However, Tau has only appeared for the Red Devils a few occasions this season.
His contract will finish next year. However, Al Ahly does not appear interested in prolonging the player's tenure.
Meanwhile, Zamalek is thought to be interested in signing the former Brighton and Hove Albion player.
However, Zamalek club's board of directors, Ahmed Suleiman told MBC Masr that it’s unlikely they launch a move for the former Brighton and Hove Albion star.
ZAMALEK SC DIRECTOR ON PERCY TAU
“There has never been an offer from Zamalek for Percy Tau,” he told the Egyptian New Channel, as per KingFut.
“Currently, no one at the club is thinking about signing players from Al Ahly, just as Al Ahly is not considering signing players from us.
“No player joins Zamalek without José Gomes being fully convinced. As a board, we cannot impose a player on the coach.”
