Al Ahly have joined the race to sign Kaizer Chiefs target Fiston Mayele, Pyramids striker, as they are looking to strengthen their team for the next season.
Amakhosi have held an interest in DRC international Fiston Mayele since his time at Young Africans, before he joined Egyptian club Pyramids.
Mayele is said to be keen on playing for Chiefs, a move that would see him link up again with head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who he worked under at Young Africans.
The 32-year-old striker has been in hot form this season, both domestically in Egypt and in the CAF Champions League.
His brace against Orlando Pirates in the semi-final was instrumental in securing Pyramids' place in the final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pyramids are said to have offered him a new two-year deal as they look to retain his services.

According to Soccer Laduma, Al Ahly have also enquired about the striker, adding him to their wishlist for the next season.
FISTON MAYELE ON AL AHLY’S RADAR
“It's true Pyramids want to keep him and that's why they have offered him a new two-year contract when his current contract is only ending in June 2026,” said Soccer Laduma’s source.
“And one of the teams that has enquired about him is their Cairo rival, Al Ahly. At the moment there is nothing much we can say but the interest is there and Al Ahly have enquired about him.
“You see, as much as Kaizer Chiefs and Al Ahly could both be interested in Mayele, it will go down to how much they are offering.
“Personally he is believed to be on a very good salary and Pyramids are one of highest paying clubs not only in Egypt but in Africa as well. So although there is different interest in him, it will all go down to monetary factors.”
