‘Bafana beating Lesotho was like beating some one on wheelchair! Nigeria can easily beat SA, this is war’

Bafana Bafana took a massive step in their bid to play the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 3-0 win over Lesotho at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The result meant South Africa are now on 16 points from the seven games created, five more than Benin who are second after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Zimbabwe. On Saturday, Rwanda play Nigeria in another Group C outing.

The majority of South Africans are happy with the healthy win over the Crocodiles, but some are wary of Super Eagles' threat. These are their reactions.

Can they give us, Bafana Bafana, Benin tomorrow so we can wrap this thing up already –  London Dee Donavan

Where is that talkative Lesotho guy [Lesotho FA secretary general Mokhosi Mohapi]? He was ready to protest and even said Lesotho would cause an upset –  Desmond Msimango

Zuko Mdunyelwa is a real deal. Ademola Lookman will eat crumbs even without Khuliso Mudau – Pindile Nkewana

I tell you solemnly, the Super Eagles are coming to South Africa to defeat Bafana Bafana. Pen this down; this is war, gentlemen – Igwurube Kingsley Nnaemeka Azodo

You will never give Danny Jordaan his flowers, but he brought Hugo Broos here –  Minister Scones

Beating Lesotho felt like beating someone in a wheelchair. They gave us no challenge at all. They might as well carry our towels and water bottles next time we happen to meet – Phuck Illegals

Hugo Broos has really done well for this team. See, a team of generators, Nigeria, begged for a draw, but Bafana Bafana just silenced them. To add more salt to the wounds of so-called giants of Africa, Benin won their game against Zimbabwe. Now we're all Rwandans on Saturday – Niba Klif

Bafana Bafana deserves to be at the World Cup. Nigeria's Super Eagles flopped as they couldn't get a maximum of 9 points at home against Lesotho, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Even their home game against Rwanda is not a guarantee – Kingsley Chukwudi Mgbakor

Nigeria can easily beat this Bafana Bafana squad. In a game like this? Playing against a team like Lesotho? They should show total domination; even their play is not up to standard. The Super Eagles are going to deal with you thoroughly – Bo Tshelo Tidoh

Nigeria won’t even survive these guys in South Africa. Let’s be honest, there’s no hope – Kingsley Darkson
