Premier Soccer League club Chippa United have confirmed a shock exit of Nigeria international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
The 29-year-old has been a rock for the Super Eagles, helping them deliver in the international competitions. However, the Chilli Boys have been struggling to make an impact in Mzansi.

Two seasons ago, the custodian, who managed to keep 25 clean sheets fro Chippa United in the 76 games featured, was heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs. The Glamour Boys eventually went for Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy who has struggled to settle.
Nwabali was also a target for some unnamed teams from England as well as Saudi Arabia.
A shock announcement
Despite the transfer window closing a couple of days ago, Chippa announced the exit of the experienced goalkeeper who had submitted a transfer request.
“Chippa United Football Club confirms that Stanley Nwabali has formally submitted a request to depart club. After careful consideration, the club has agreed to grant his release,” the club confirmed through a statement to the public.
“We would like to sincerely thank Stanley Nwabali for the years of service, commitment, and professionalism he has shown during his time at Chippa United Football Club. His contribution to the club will always be appreciated.
“The club wishes Stanley every success in the next chapter of his career and in all his future endeavours,” they concluded.
Chiefs have seemingly solved their goalkeeping problems thanks to Brandon Petersen’s rise. It is interesting to see where Nwabali will be heading.
