Mamelodi Sundowns left it late to claim maximum points in the Premier Soccer League outing against Sekhukhune United on Tuesday night at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Substitute Khuliso Mudau played an integral part in helping Masandawana win; first, he assisted Nuno Santos in the second minute of added time, before a precise pass found Peter Shalulile two minutes later.

The Namibia international saw his effort parried by goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner, but the rebound kindly fell on Brayan Leon, who headed home the second for the defending champions.

Coach Miguel Cardoso has opened up on the importance of the win before sending a message to the fans . The portuguese insists the team needs to be consistently supported.

“The families today, congratulations to everybody. [It] was a game of a lot of creativity. We knew that the game probably would finish in the end,” Cardoso told the media.

“But we told the boys , the starters would be as important as the finishers in order to put intensity, rhythm to make the Sekhukhune players tired to force them to really run in the end without energy and capacity to process everything we could make.
