Chaine singles out three Pirates youngsters after victory over Sundowns

Following his heroic performance in the MTN8 semi-final, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine has lauded the standout contributions of three of the club's rising stars.

Chaine became the man of the moment against Mamelodi Sundowns, saving two penalties from Teboho Mokoena and Marcelo Allende in a 4-1 shootout win that followed a 2-2 aggregate draw.

His heroics propelled the Buccaneers to their fourth consecutive MTN8 final.

In an interview with SuperSport TV, Chaine was full of praise for Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Lebone Seema, and Relebohile Mofokeng.

CHAINE ON PIRATES YOUNGSTERS – ‘THEY ARE AMAZING’

“They are amazing,” he said, expressing his admiration for their maturity beyond their years. “I think throughout my small career, I haven’t seen boys at that age, I mean a 20-year-old doing what they are doing at centre-back up against experienced strikers and players.”

He continued, “For them to come out and showcase what they do in each and every week is a marvel to watch.” Chaine concluded by offering them a piece of advice: “I can just urge them to keep working hard, stay grounded, the best is yet to come.”

The young players have more than earned the praise. Mbekezeli Mbokazi has become a defensive anchor since being introduced to the first team by Jose Riveiro last season.

He has not only established a strong presence at centre-back but has also taken on a leadership role as second vice-captain, leading the side in Nkosinathi Sibisi's absence.

Lebone Seemahas also risen to the occasion, forming a powerful defensive partnership with Mbokazi and displaying remarkable composure in every match. Even while still regaining his best form, Relebohile Mofokeng has been a constant threat, and his impact was crucial in the team's successful run to the MTN8 final.
