While Kaizer Chiefs coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalili Ben Youssef have been slammed over what some perceive as poor performance, they have been backed to continue in the role.
The Chiefs co-coaches have had to deal with criticism since being promoted to lead the team when their boss Nasreddine Nabi left the club last September.

Despite Chiefs showing improvements in the league, Kaze and Ben Youssef have become the punching bag whenever the Glamour Boys lose or get knocked out of a competition, like it happened when Amakhosi exited the Carling Knockout and most-recently Nedbank Cup as well as CAF Confederation Cup.
However, former Chiefs left-back Tsepo Masiela feels the two coaches have performed admirably, especially leading a team that finished ninth with 32 points in the whole of last season to 30 points in 15 games this term.
Why Masilela wants Chiefs coaches to stay
”Take nothing away from Cedric Kaze and Youssef, they have both done well,” Masilela said on SoccerBeat. “Firstly, as a coach, when you come in a top team that just finished outside the top eight and you’re trying to close the gap in terms of the points tally and they have done that.”
”I believe they still feel that they can do the unthinkable and win the league because you look at Pirates starting to drop points and Sundowns everyone is saying is not the Sundowns of the past,” he added, expressing confidence in a Chiefs title push.

”It is a Sundowns that does not go into the match and you think they will win 4-0. It’s Sundowns that teams can pick points from.”
Chiefs have a chance to enhance their title credentials as they host Stellenbosch FC in the PSL on Tuesday night and if they win, they will be five points behind leaders Orlando Pirates, who they face in the Soweto derby on Saturday.
