Kaizer Chiefs: Another venue change for Amakhosi’s next match

The venue for the upcoming Betway Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC has been officially changed, with the fixture now set to take place at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Initially, the game scheduled for September 5 was slated to be held at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in the North West province.

However, the management of Moses Mabhida Stadium confirmed via social media that it will now host the encounter.

Second straight venue change for Kaizer Chiefs

This match will mark the reopening of the iconic Durban venue, which was a host stadium during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The stadium has been closed for renovations and has not hosted any games last season.

Previously, Kaizer Chiefs’ match against Richards Bay was anticipated to be played at Moses Mabhida. However, a joint decision between the club and the local municipality led to that fixture being moved to Princess Magogo Stadium to avoid prematurely reopening the venue.

Following its reopening, Moses Mabhida Stadium is set for a busy period. Durban City is scheduled to play Rukinzo FC in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie, and a week later, AmaZulu will face Marumo Gallants at the same venue.
