PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have been put on alert after Richards Bay coach Dimitar Pantev admitted that striker Nqaba Xulu could soon be joining a top club.
Xulu has been in top form so far this season with five goals in eight games for his new club and would be on six had he not been harshly denied during Tuesday’s 4-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The striker had a hand in their only goal against Sundowns, when he unleashed a ferocious shot which goalkeeper Ronwen Williams punched away, but the ball fell to Lwandile Mabuya, who slammed home the rebound for 1-1 after Tashreeq Matthews’ 18th-minute opener.
Bay coach alerts Chiefs, Pirates and Downs
However, just before that, Richards Bay thought they had scored first when Xulu headed from Siyabonga Nzama’s fine cross, but the goal was ruled out for an offside in the build-up. However, replays suggested it should have stood.

The forward has been a revelation since joining the Natal Rich Boyz from Milford FC, showing pace and power as well as an eye for goal and his new coach thinks it might not be long before he plays for a top club.
“He can go very far, if he keeps focus, ambition – I think that very soon, big teams will be coming for him,” Pantev tolds journalists after the Carling Knockout Round of 16 draw.
Which team would suit Nqaba Xulu?
Xulu would be a hit at any of the ‘Big Three’ as Sundowns, Chiefs and Pirates play in a way that would suit him.

However, with Sundowns loaded up front, it is hard to see them moving for him soon, unless there is a key departure, while Chiefs have been reported to be in the market for attacking reinforcements.
Richards Bay would, however, demand a huge fee for the striker if he continues firing on all cylinders, potentially leading to a bidding war from the interested parties.
