“Chiefs still have four major injury concerns, with Brandon Petersen returning to individual training recovering a knee injury, Lebohang Maboe – who has played in all eight of Chiefs’ games this season – nursing an ankle injury, while Phili and Siphesihle Ndlovu remain long term absentees,” the club stated through a statement on their website.

In Petersen’s absence, Renaldo Leaner was impressive in goal as Chiefs kept a rare clean sheet during their last match, which ended goalless, and he is set to continue against Stellies.

Amakhosi have their work cut out

Meanwhile, coach Fernando da Cruz will need to make changes in midfield in light of the injury to the ever-reliable Maboe as well as Ndlovu.

Chiefs, who sit fourth in the standings, seven points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, have their work cut out as they had drawn two games on the bounce before the international break.
