Chiefs star points out weakness that costs Amakhosi ahead of Richards Bay test

Kaizer Chiefs are set for another tough outing on Tuesday night against Richards Bay at the FNB Stadium.

The Glamour Boys will be coming up against the Natal Rich Boys who have lost their opening two Premier Soccer League games. The Soweto giants top the table thanks to their perfect start in the new campaign that have seem them collect maximum points.

One of the players who has done well for the Glamour Boys is midfielder Thabo Cele who has helped Amakhosi dominate proceedings against Stellenbosch and Polokwane City respectively. The Bafana Bafana international has not only helped in covering the teh defenders, but he has played a crucial role in initiating attacks.

Despite Amakhosi not conceding so far, Cele has pointed out a weakness that should be addressed before it is too late.

‘Chiefs trying to improve on how we play, on how we create opportunities'

“If you look at it, our problem is that we play and then we concede on transitions, so we’re trying to be in control, especially in the opponent’s half. We want to create more opportunities and also maintain control in the opponent’s half. It’s those things that we’re trying to improve on, you know, tactically,” he told the media.

“Playing for this club, expectations are always there, and we’re here because, you know, we want to handle that expectation. And, you know, what they’re [supporters] expecting is good results, like how we started. But obviously not everything is perfect.

“We’re trying to improve, like I said, we’re trying to improve on how we play, on how we create opportunities, on how we do everything, like in the previous games. We didn’t concede.

“Also, on how we’re trying to maintain that, because if you look at the Stellenbosch game, they created some opportunities. We are trying to minimise teams from creating opportunities. And for us to be creating more opportunities,” Cele concluded.
