Chiefs Transfer News: Blow for Amakhosi as target extends deal with current club

Kaizer Chiefs have missed out on their long-term target, whom coach Nasreddine Nabi wanted to strengthen his attacking department.

In the almost-closing Transfer Window, the Glamour Boys have signed Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya, Indonesia), Ethan Chislett (Port Vale, England), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverce, Portugal), Paseka Mako (Orlando Pirates), Thabiso Monyane (Orlando Pirates), Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport United), Asanele Velebayi (Cape Town Spurs), Etiosa Ighodaro (Mamelodi Sundowns), Luke Baartman (Cape Town Spurs), Lebohang Maboe (free), Khanyisa Mayo (CR Belouizdad, Loan).

However, they have been linked with Taifa Stars' versatile attacker Feisal Salum who has been doing well for Azam in both the domestic and international assignments.

Salum ends speculations about his future

Fei Toto, as he is known by his fans, was part of the national team that took part in CHAN and managed to provide an assist as the country reached the last eight of the biennial competition before falling to eventual champions Morocco.

The 27-year-old will now play for the Chamazi-based team until 2027, which is a massive boost for the club's ambitions. With the country co-hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations alongside Kenya and Uganda, Salum, maybe, didn't want to jeopardize his chances of representing Taifa Stars.

Chiefs hope the likes of Chislett, Ndlovu, Shabalala, Maboe et al can deliver consistently just like Salum. It will be vital as the Glamour Boys hope to get back to the summit of South African football and have an impact in the CAF inter-club competition as well.

After five games, Amakhosi are on top of the Premier Soccer League table without suffering a loss. They have managed four wins and a draw so far, and are yet to concede a goal.
