Kaizer Chiefs suffered a second straight defeat in the DStv Diski Challenge this season following a 1-0 loss to AmaZulu on Sunday.
The Glamour Boys, who are looking to defend their title, had it rough on matchday four as they were beaten at home to AmaZulu who came out strongly to see them drop further on the table.
Chiefs have now managed six points from a possible 12 and are four behind leader Orlando Pirates, who beat TS Galaxy 2-0 on Saturday.
Who else suffered defeat?
Meanwhile, former champions Stellenbosch FC also suffered defeat as they were beaten 3-0 by Siwelele FC in what was the biggest result of the weekend.
Stellies had a tough outing as they suffered defeat for the second time this season, dropping to sixth on the log, and will now need to play catch up to get to the top.
Just like Chiefs and Stellenbosch, it was a bad day at the office for Mamelodi Sundowns, who suffered a 1-0 loss to Richards Bay, completing a miserable weekend for the title contenders.
It was the first defeat of the season for Sundowns who had won two and drawn the other and they are now third on the table with seven points from four games, three behind Pirates.
Underdogs dominate
It was a weekend when underdogs dominated with Pirates the only big name who won as their victory, a third in a row, sent them to the top of the log.
Elsewhere, Durban City were the biggest winners of the weekend when they hammered Magesi FC 5-0 as Polokwane City lost 2-0 at home to Sekhukhune United also on Sunday.
On Saturday, Orbit College had beaten Golden Arrows 2-1 while Marumo Gallants edged out Chippa United 3-2.
