The DStv Diski Challenge rolled into matchweek 15 this weekend, delivering exciting clashes at the KaNyamazane Stadium and across the country. Orlando Pirates pulled away at the summit of the table after Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points.
Under the guidance of SuperSport United title winning coach Rascoe Petersen, Pirates produced a commanding display to beat Marumo Gallants 2-0, extending their lead at the top to seven points.
Stellenbosch FC continued their impressive climb up the standings, defeating Chippa United 2-1 to move into fourth place. The defeat leaves Chippa lingering in 14th position, just two points above last‑placed Golden Arrows.
Kaizer Chiefs turned on the style with a 2-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, moving up to fifth while halting Sundowns’ pursuit of the league leaders. Chiefs still have a game in hand after their European tour, earned as a reward for winning the 2024–25 Diski Challenge title.
The upset of the weekend came from newcomers Orbit College, who stunned Sekhukhune United with a 3-0 win. The result lifted the North West outfit to 10th place, pushing Babina Noko down to 11th.
Siwelele appear to have rediscovered their rhythm, thrashing Durban City 4-2 to climb to third place, eight points adrift of leaders Pirates.
Meanwhile, Kurt Lentjies celebrated his first victory as AmaZulu head coach after Usuthu edged Magesi 2-1. The former Sundowns and Chippa United midfielder had endured a tough start, losing 3-0 to Pirates in his opening game.
