Duba explains why Mofokeng is shining at Pirates while he is struggling at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Wandile Duba believes Relebohile Mofokeng is doing well at Orlando Pirates due to the stability at the club as opposed to what he has had to deal with at Naturena.

Mofokeng, who is close to turning 20, has enjoyed a meteoric rise at Pirates and at his young age, already has four trophies, while he has scored decisive goals in the Nedbank Cup and MTN8 final.

The Pirates youngster marked his 50th appearance for the Buccaneers with an MTN8 title when he took his tally to nine goals and 10 assists and continues to earn praise.

However, Duba is still not a regular at Chiefs and has just one goal and assist in 17 appearances despite being slightly older than his Pirates counterpart.

Why is Duba not happy with Rele comparison

Duba feels the comparisons with Mofokeng are not fair since the circumstances at Pirates are completely different to what he has to ensure at Chiefs.

“The difference between us is that I was playing in a struggling team while he was at a well-structured club with less pressure,” Duba told FARPost.

“Pirates are doing well, so everything he does looks good. I’ve also had to deal with many coaching changes, whereas he’s had stability with one coach.”

Chiefs youngster confident in coach Nabi

Duba had two coaches last season, and is on the third one this campaign under Nasreddine Nabi while Mofokeng has started his third season under Jose Riveiro.

The Chiefs star he is, however, confident in Nabi and is looking forward to better tidings under the Tunisian tactician.

“Coach Nabi has really changed my mentality and is helping me grow as a player,” Duba shared.

“I never thought I could play on the wing, but he saw my speed and intelligence and believed I could do it. I’m happy to play wherever the coach needs me.”
