Esperance started their Club World Cup campaign with a disappointing 2-0 loss against Flamengo on Tuesday morning.

Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana was introduced after the break to try and help the Red and Yellow get something from the game, but things didn't work out as planned. Esperance are now at the bottom of Group D alongside Los Angeles, who fell by the same margin against Chelsea.

Have a look at what the fans in Mzansi said after the game.

Esperance is just doing well in Africa only. Today they were playing like they didn't know why they are at the Club World Cup – Masenyeletja

I honestly expected this performance; at the international stage, these North African teams won't get the opportunity to bully their opponents using the fans and doing all the dirty tricks. They are there to add numbers – Simlindile Sim

They gave Flamengo too much respect. Can you win a game while you're playing a low block and expect to kill them with a counterattack? – ULindor Icala Lengezo Mzilikazi

This Club World Cup tournament is big, African teams won't survive, but we are proud of Mokwana – Fhatuwani Donaldson Mutshegwe
