Ex-Chiefs coach Ntseki makes PSL return with new top job

Premier Soccer League side Marumo Gallants have confirmed the arrival of former Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki to help improve the technical bench.

Ntseki had initially served as Amakhosi Technical Director, before taking over as the club's head coach following the demotion of Arthur Zwane at the start of the 2023/24 campaign. Disappointing results led to his sacking just 13 games into the season across all competitions.

Since then, the 55-year-old former South Africa coach has been in the cold, until Bahlabane Ba Ntwa decided to employ him.

“Marumo Gallants Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Molefi Ntseki as the club's new Technical Director. This strategic appointment is aimed at strengthening the club's technical department and driving the success of the team on the field,” the club confirmed on Monday.

“Ntseki comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge, having coached various national youth teams, PSL Kaizer Chiefs, and becoming the South African senior national team’s manager. His impressive track record and passion for developing young talent make him an ideal fit for the club. Hailing from Botshabelo, he has a deep understanding of the Free State province and fans, which is an added bonus to the Bloemfontein-based Gallants squad.”

Ntseki couldn't hide his joy after landing the job, “I'm looking forward to working hard as the Technical Director. I want to thank the club as a whole, the supporters, the coaches, and the management. I'm here to work with everyone to make this club a success.”

Gallants are just a position above relegation after a poor start to the ongoing campaign. On Friday, they will have a tough assignment against SuperSport United in the PSL.
