Major League Soccer outfit Chicago Fire recently concluded the signing of Puso Dithejane from TS Galaxy.

The 21-year-old has been in a trajectory mode since his unceremonious exit from Kaizer Chiefs three seasons ago. In the 15 games played in the ongoing campaign, across all competitions, the attacker managed to find the back of the net four times and created six assists in the process.

Defending Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns and the Glamour Boys had been heavily linked with the South Africa international before the Mbekezeli Mbokazi club came calling.

The South African has signed a reported four-year deal with the American outfit which will see him play for them until 2030. The versatile attacker couldn’t hide his joy after completing the move.

“Hello Chicago Fire fans, I’m Puso Dithejane, I’m excited and honoured to join the lovely club,” he stated in his unveiling clip.

“And be part of something special. I can’t wait to get on the pitch, give my all and play in front of you. See you soon, Chicago!,” he concluded.

Chicago Fire coach Gregg Berhalter says the club has been tracking the winger for some time and are convinced that he has all the qualities needed to succeed in the MLS.

“We’ve been scouting him for a while, and he’s of the most highly regarded talents in South Africa right now,” Berhalter told MIR97 Media as quoted by Flashcore.

“He’s a very dynamic winger, he can change the game. He’s a young player who needs development, but a really great attitude on the pitch, really good speed and one-on-one ability. He has a lot of attributes that make him an exciting winger, and that’s what we wanted to add,” he added.
