Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are seemingly in the race for the Premier Soccer League title this season.
The Buccaneers are on top of the table with 28 points having played 12 games the same us second-placed Masandawana who are on 25 points. The Glamour Boys have collected 22 points from 11 matches played.
A majority of the South African fans sisn’t expect Amakhosi to be in the race for the title especially after finishing 10th and ninth in the last two season’s respectively.
In his interview with the media, Bucs legend Happy Jele has omitted Chiefs from the race, and explained why Abdeslam Ouaddou’s men are favourites alongside the Brazilians.

“For me, as now, I think there are three teams that contend for the league; Orlando Pirates, Sundowns, and Sekhukhune, never take it away because they’ve been doing well,” he opened up.
“Kaizer Chiefs, they are not inconsistent the way they’re playing, but Sekhukhune, they catch the points there and there, and they are a team to disturb. But these two teams are the ones that are competing for the league.
“Sundowns are playing well at this time, even though they are not consistent, but they can grind points. Pirates is doing well. We’re hoping that this consistent Orlando Pirates can make them win the league,” the former defender added.

The Sea Robbers have gone more than a decade without the Premier Soccer League crown. However, the 38-year-old is convinced that drought will be ended by the current crop of players.
“I think it’s been a while, Orlando Pirates not winning a league title. It’s very big. I think we are the ones that won the league the last time, and the new generation that is playing now, they are doing well. They’ve got capable of taking it this season.
“It’s just mentally. It’s a marathon, but they need to maintain the consistency and get the silverware for the league,” he concluded.
