The former South Africa international is convinced the Swanky Boys’ custodian can deliver for the nation.
SuperSport United assistant coach Andre Arendse believes Ricardo Goss can replace South Africa captain Ronwen Williams as the national team's custodian.
Williams has been consistent for both Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana in international levels which saw him getting a new deal that will keep him at Masandawana until 2028. His class has led to Ricardo Goss failing to stamp his authority at Downs, and as a result, he is now loaned at Matsatsantsa.
The 30-year-old pulled fantastic saves on Saturday as the Swanky Boys fell 3-1 against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-final.
Goss has been a regular at Bafana Bafana, deputizing for Williams, but Arendse is convinced he can go a step further.

Time to move up – Goss challenged to walk the talk
“I had a conversation with Ricardo last season, and he needs to go to the next level of his game,” the 57-year-old former goalkeeper stated.
“He needs to push Ronwen Williams hard on the national team. Goss needs to keep more clean sheets for SuperSport.
“He can do that with better communication by making himself a lot more visible and vocal on the field. I mean, this game [against Pirates] was the first game of the season, and he produced a Man of the Match performance. He conceded three goals, but he made three or four top saves.
“He was vocal. I could hear him from the sideline, and he was well on his way. His biggest challenge is to be consistent. I have no doubt that he’ll move to the next level of his game.”
Goss will be a key player for Gavin Hunt's side aiming at pushing for top positions in the Premier Soccer League and challenge for other domestic Cups as well.
